Autumn Accessories - Handbags

November 13, 2015

As I’m not including accessories as part of my capsule wardrobe I’m trying to include them into my outfits more to keep things fresh. A couple of weeks ago I spoke about my favourite scarves for autumn and thought I would share my current handbag selection with you today. I will be using these 5 bags alongside my current capsule wardrobe (and probably my next). I think I have a pretty good range of bags in my current selection. However I am on the look out for a larger black bag, I have my eye on this one from Strathberry (hint, hint Santa!!!).

Michael Kors Selma

I couldn’t do a post on handbags without featuring my Selma, could I. My husband brought me this for Christmas a few years ago and I’ve used it ever since. As its a gorgeous burgundy colour I tend to save it for autumn/winter which keeps it looking good. It’s made of saffiano leather which makes it pretty tough and helps it hold its shape. The Selma is one of Michael Kors main collection bags which means there pretty easy to get hold off. You can get the burgundy colour here.

Rebecca Minkoff Hudson Mini bag

I’ve had this little beauty for a couple of years now. It’s such a useful little bag and holds so much more than I think it will. It’s perfect for weekends when you just need to carry your purse and phone. It’s also a really useful bag for travelling as it can fit easier in your suitcase and because its small you can carry around all day without any shoulder pain. Unfortunately, it’s sold out everywhere but this and this are similar.

Radley Clerkenwell

Earlier in the year, I was lucky enough to win a twitter competition with the prize being a Radley handbag. I choose the Clerkenwell in light grey (read my post on the Radley Clerkenwell), which I used pretty much every day over the summer. I was planning on putting it away over the autumn/winter but I’ve found the light grey colour works just as well with darker autumn clothes as it does with summer outfits. It’s also a really great size for an everyday bag, bigger enough to carry what you need but not so big you end up carry the kitchen sink in it. My colour is currently sold out, but Radley still has this style in stock in a few colours.

Whistles Rivington

WhistlesClutch
My Whistles Rivington chain clutch has become my go to going out bag since I brought it last year. It’s such a simple bag, meaning it goes with pretty much every outfit. It’s also very roomy for a clutch bag meaning I can fit my main purse (which is a bonus) and plenty of lipsticks (obviously an essential!). This exact clutch is out of stock just now, but Whistles tends to have a few in their range every season. If you’re looking for black this one is similar.

Yoshi Baylis Clutch

Yoshiclutch
Back in September Yoshi contacted me to ask if I’d like to try one of their new season bags. Obviously, I said yes, (read my review of the Baylis Clutch). This turns out to be a very useful bag. I’ve been using it as a cross body bag to add a pop of colour to my (mostly) monochrome wardrobe. I love the little postman’s lock detail on the top. You can find the Baylis clutch on the Yoshi bags website.
What’s your current favourite handbag?
