I’m equal parts nervous and excited writing this post. I don’t think I’ve felt like this about a blog post since I hit publish on my very first post back in 2014. But I guess I better just get on with it and introduce you to The Sustainable Edit. I’ve been considering a name change for a while now and after lots of thought (and bugging my husband with non-stop name suggestions) I finally bite the bullet and did it.
As much as I loved Tartan Brunette I was starting to feel it didn’t reflect the sustainable fashion blog this space had become. To be honest I didn’t give it much thought when I picked the name back in 2014. I wanted something that reflected me – hence Tartan Brunette (because I’m Scottish and brunette – told you it wasn’t clever). The name worked at the time but over the years as I’ve discovered my niche and found a focus and direction for this site the name was no longer reflecting the blog and its content. While I’ll always have a soft spot for Tartan Brunette a change was needed.
So what does the fancy new name mean for the future of this site? I don’t plan on changing too much the content will be pretty much the same. I’ll still be sharing my capsule wardrobe tips and advice, and chatting all things slow fashion and slow living. Except now the name reflects this content too.
This year I’ve found myself growing more and more interested in ethical fashion and sustainable living and my content has reflected this. I want this blog to develop as a sustainable fashion and lifestyle blog. I want to show that you can have a sustainable wardrobe and lifestyle without making drastic changes. You don’t need to live naked in the woods to be sustainable. We can all make a difference in our own ways.
Thank you for all your support with Tartan Brunette and I hope you will continue following me on my journey with The Sustainable Edit.
Before I go just a wee note about how the new URL will work. I have set up redirects so you should still find this site from an old link (although please let me know if you come across any broken links). All my social media profiles have been changed to @sustainableedit if you already follow me then you will still be following. I’m in the process of changing my Bloglovin and Facebook profiles but like with the other sites this should change over with you having to do anything. However, if you have a bookmark set up you may want to change this to www.thesustainableedit.com
