On Wednesday I posted my outfit from the wedding I attended at the weekend (post here), so today I thought I’d talk you through how I did my hair and makeup.
I knew I wanted a bold red lip to go with my rather simple outfit. I chose MAC Russian Red as I think it gives the perfect classic Hollywood red lip. To help the lipstick last I used MAC’s lip pencil in Cherry which is a gorgeous bright red colour.
As I had such a bold colour on my lips I kept my eyes really simple. I used Half Baked from the Urban Decay Naked Palette all over my lids and used a little MAC Woodwinked in the crease. I then used Maybelline’s Gel Liner to create a thin line and added Fleur’s 3/4 lashes to add a little glamour. For my brows, I filled them with Benefit’s Brow Zings and set using Benefit Gimme Brow.
For the base, I used NARS Sheer Glow in Deauville and an Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer. Then finished off with a little NARS Laguna and NARS Deep Throat to add colour.
My hair wasn’t behaving on the morning of the wedding so I put it in an updo. It’s kinda hard to describe how to do hair so bare with me here. I started by sectioning my hair into four. The two sides, the centre at the crown and the back of my head. I put the hair from the back section into a low bun (with the help of a hair doughnut). Then I took the hair from the side sections (leaving a little out to frame the face) and plaited it before wrapping it around the bun. I then backcombed the centre section before splitting it in two and wrapping before sections around the bun.
