Pink tulips for springI discovered a new word this week: vernorexia which is a romantic mood inspired by spring. This is 100% me right now. I’m feeling so inspired and excited about spring. I always get a bit like this when the seasons start to change. The sun has returned and although there is no blossom around here yet I’ve been doing my best to fill my house with spring flowers. There is something about the beautiful spring sunshine that is romantic, fresh and inspiring.

As I’m fully embracing the first signs of spring my mind is turning to my spring capsule wardrobe. Unlike during winter, spring makes me want to add more colour to my wardrobe. Normally I stick to black, white and grey but this spring I want to add a bit more colour to my wardrobe. I’ve been thinking about what my spring colour palette might look like and of course turned to Pinterest for inspiration. I have created a board full of pretty blush pinks and soft greys which are perfect for spring.

Spring Colour Inspiration

Pinks, Blush, Greys for spring colour paletteAs you can see my spring inspiration board is looking very romantic. I love the soft romantic palette of pinks and greys. A few lighter colours here and there is the perfect way to celebrate the start of spring in your wardrobe. I know I’m never going to stray too far from my minimalistic monochrome wardrobe I like the idea of giving it a romantic edge this spring. Whether I bring colour into my wardrobe through accessories or adding a couple of coloured pieces I’m not sure yet. But I am thinking of looking for a pretty, romantic top in a lighter pink shade which I can dress up or down along with a lighter coloured bag for spring. And of course, there’s the option of wearing pretty pink nail polish to add a subtle pop of colour to my monochrome outfits.

Items included on my inspiration board:

Print Shirt – Hush

Pink Bag – Aspinal of London

Lightning Bolt Sweatshirt – Hush

I’m feeling really inspired by the idea of adding a little more colour to my wardrobe this spring and can’t wait to get started creating my wishlist and planning purchases.

  1. Great picks, I’m trying to move away from wearing so much black but finding it a bit daunting! Think I will take a look at introudcing some blush toned basics to see if that is in my comfort zone… x

    • Think the blush tones will make it easy to add a little colour without feeling like too much, totally get what you mean about being comfortable in black rather than colour

  2. I’ve pulled last spring/ summer stuff and have a couple of lovely nude/ blush pieces that am itching to wear. However it’s still far to cold as they are very lightweight

  3. I’ve always loved blush tones and blushed nude for spring, I just find it really hard to find the right shade of it to suit my skin tone. Another shade I love for spring is yellow as well actually, I think it adds such a lovely pop of colour!
