First Outfit of Spring

April 20, 2016

White blazer and jeans

Spring has finally arrived here in Edinburgh, whether it will stay or not is a different story. So to celebrate the appearance of spring (however brief it may be) I thought I’d share my first outfit from my new spring capsule wardrobe. Definitely enjoying being able to wear light clothes again, even if I still need to add a coat.

This outfit actually reminds me of something I would have worn out when I was around 17/18. I used to wear jeans and blazer to everything, adding heels at the weekend and sticking with trainers during the week. It’s funny how your style never really changes, it just evolves. I hope that my modern version is a little more stylish and chic than teenage me.

If you remember from my spring outfit inspiration post, I wanted to keep things really simple and casual with this capsule wardrobe. I have added lots of denim, this time, around, and if I’m honest it’s so nice wearing looser fit jeans again. Don’t get me wrong I love my skinny jeans, but my new boyfriend fit jeans are so much more comfortable. These jeans are only slightly distressed, which is a great way to try the distressed jeans trend without buy jeans with huge rips in them. It also means you don’t have half your leg showing (no need for fake tan, or shaved legs – yay).

I love this look, it is so simple and chic! You're absolutely right by saying that our style never changes, it only evolves – I sometimes look at old pictures and suddenly get the urge to recreate that look. xx

  4. Classic and flattering. I would add yellow or red pumps to this outfit. A pop of colour for summer!
