Edinburgh Fashion Week: What I Wore
March 16, 2016
I was lucky enough to be invited along to the launch weekend to see the shows and experience the atmosphere in the fashion week tent. You can read all about my experience of Edinburgh Fashion week here. But this did create a bit of a dilemma, What on earth was I going to wear? Before I started my capsule wardrobe I would have been straight along to Topshop buying the first outfit I saw. Which let’s be honest I probably wouldn’t have worn or would have only worn once. This time, I had to make do with what I already had. Although I did have a little stress when I first received my invite I soon found myself thinking of a few outfit combinations.
In the rush of getting ready (making sure the camera was charged, I had my pass etc) I didn’t get a chance to snap a pic of my outfit from day one. This photo is by the professional photographer (Duncan Reddish, you can see more of his work here
) who was set up in the VIP area. I wore my Whistles spot print shirt with jeans and tan ankle boots. I wanted to keep things simple and comfortable but still look smart (it was fashion week after all).
I had a slightly more relaxed start to day two and even managed to persuade my husband to snap a few pictures before I left. I wore my long sleeve striped t-shirt from Oasis, with black jeans and black over the knee boots. To pull everything together I added a sleeveless jacket from Dorothy Perkins, which I had already picked up for my spring capsule (if you can’t break the rules for fashion week when can you). I’ve added this to my wardrobe early as it is a great transitional piece which looks good with jumpers as well as lighter tops.
